Today's camp for Inhibitor Testing and Free Factor Distribution was a resounding success.
It was held at Dr. D. Y. Patil Hospital, organized by the Hemophilia Society of Maharashtra, Pune Chapter, in association with the Intas Foundation.
A total of 152 participants, including patients and parents, attended the camp. Out of them, 99 were patients who received factor distribution, and 69 patients gave blood samples for inhibitor testing. Those who didn’t give samples had their tests done recently, so it wasn’t required again.
Dr. Upase and Dr. Shailaja Mane were present for the program. Physiotherapy sessions were conducted by Ms. Neelam and Ms. Deepti. Mr. Amit from Intas Foundation attended along with his team.
From the Hemophilia Society of Maharashtra, Pune Chapter, Mr. Dnyaneshwar Thorat and Mr. Bansode were present.
Special appreciation was expressed by Dr. Upase & Dr. Mane for Rashid Sir and Vijay Sir for their dedication and excellent efforts. Despite the very short time span, they effectively coordinated and communicated with a large number of patients, which led to such an impressive turnout and successful camp.
One patient, Aakash Jadhav, came to the camp with an IC bleed. His CT scan was done at the venue itself, and he has been admitted to Dr. D. Y. Patil Hospital ICU. He required a total of 10,000 units of factor for 5 days — 1,000 units were provided by Intas Foundation, and the remaining 9,000 units were generously donated by nine members present at the camp.
