01 June 1992

With the humble beginning of just 27 Persons with Hemophilia (PWHs), the Hemophilia Society of Maharashtra (HSM) was born.

02 1993-1994

Our vision took shape as we established the Hemophilia Care Center at Lohade Hospital, hosting regular open clinics to ensure consistent care for our community.

03 1995

Pune became the hub of global Hemophilia education and collaboration as we proudly hosted an international workshop.

04 1996-1997

A milestone achievement marked our journey with the successful completion of the Pilot DANIDA project.

05 1997
  • With the generous support of Shri Sukhalal Bansilal Chordiya Trust, we inaugurated a state-of-the-art Diagnostic Laboratory at Lohade Hospital.
  • Our partnership with Royal Free Hospital, London, flourished, providing invaluable training opportunities abroad for three of our esteemed doctors.
06 1998
  • Expanding our horizons, we forged a powerful twinning alliance with Bradford, amplifying our global impact.
07 1999

A beacon of hope illuminated our path as we received a Light Grant from Kelley Communications, U.S.A., fueling the acquisition of essential computers and physiotherapy equipment.

08 2000
  • The pinnacle of our achievements arrived as we were honored with the prestigious title of "Best Twin of the Year" by the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH).
  • Strengthening our foundation, we secured our premises for an office, laboratory, and physiotherapy center, thanks to the generous contributions from Bradford.
09 2001
  • Another milestone was reached with the acquisition of an Elisa Reader, empowering us with cutting-edge diagnostic capabilities.
10 2024
  • Our commitment to making a difference knows no bounds as the "Save One Life" initiative from the U.S.A. extends its invaluable support to ten deserving families affected by Hemophilia.
  • With unwavering dedication, we continue to enhance our facilities, striving to provide the best possible care for our community.
